Sensual lover, I love love, a lot. I love seeing couples stealing kisses. I love the tender, knowing embraces of older couples. With Valentine ’s Day just around the corner, I have found myself thinking about love, lovers and some old patterns from my past. Sometimes, we can get a little mixed up in terms of what is real-to-the-feel love and what is a loin-induced fallacy.
My hope is to help you discern whether your relationship is love-filled or lust-motivated. Choose wisely. You know what you ultimately deserve and love is worth waiting for.
Love, sweet love is the dominant vibration of the universe. It helps to connect us to divine, celestial realms and gives meaning our lives. Lust is its tawdry delinquent cousin.
Love makes us feel whole, filled up and empowered. Lust on the other hand, can make us feel fractured, sad and lonely.
Love is calm and stable, like floating down a river on a lily pad. Lust can be insecure, verging on obsessive (how many times have you checked your email/ text/ what’s app today?)
Love activates the higher chakras helping us ascend. Lust stimulates the lower chakras that focus on our earthly, carnal desires.
Love is patient. Lust is impetuous (sometimes leading to regret).
Love is a slow burn. Lust is a momentary lightening bolt that often singes us or fizzles out.
Love makes us expand. Lust, by its nature, makes us contract.
Love is a heart-felt memory. Lust is one we might just want to forget.
Love inspires art and poetry like Rumi and Hafiz. Lust inspires graffiti (often on bathroom walls).
Love is sublime. Lust, according to Dante’s Inferno, is a circle of hell where people exist for eternity in orgasm. Sounds good for about a moment…
Sensual lovers, true love starts with self-love. If you are truly vibing on you, that late-night lover simply won’t satisfy the deepest parts of you. If you are single for this holiday, find ways to truly celebrate the beautiful flower that you are. If you are with the one you love, be sure to celebrate the love you share and let it take you to the highest realms. Love is in the flowers.
In love with love,
