Sensual lovers… woohoo, I did it!
And after the launch of my book, Aromatherapy for Sensual Living and the birth of my company, Pur Frequency, only the best aromatherapy for beauty, health and lifestyle, I found myself incredibly happy and pretty much depleted. Eek! Dark circles. Sensual lovers know that beauty (and productivity) does not come from exhaustion so afterward the launch, I asked and received a constitutional reset.
We get by with a little help from our friends
One of my closest beloveds invited me up to the cottage for a week of maximum chilling and deep restoration. It was sublime. I spent my days eating gorgeous food, hiking Haliburton hills, hula hooping, swimming and imbibing in sweet sensual living luxury. It was just what the doctor ordered.
I don’t go anywhere without essential oils, especially in times of need. The flowers and plants are extraordinarily restorative and generous in their power. One day we decided to have a multi-course spa day. It was heaven! We started with a deep, long sun soak. We then used ancient deep lake mineral-rich mud combined with the restorative power of spikenard, geranium, lavender and patchouli essential oils. The mud that I use is extraordinary in its ability to feed the skin with trace minerals, soothe inflamed, irritated skin and ease arthritic or inflammatory symptoms.
Why I used these specific oils?
Spikenard is deep, warming and loving. It is a base note that is mildly sedating. My intention in using it was to help bring me down, calm my frantic mind, and soothe my soul. I have had a strong connection to spikenard since I first started using essential oils 20 years ago. It is an oil of infinite love and patience.
Patchouli, for many has a bad reputation. I simply love it. I find it to be wonderfully sedating, warming and excellent for treating sore muscles and exhaustion. I selected patchouli to give the blend roots and weight in the best possible way.
Lavender is and will always be one of my favorite essential oils for healing. In the book, I talk about lavender being slightly adaptogenic, meaning that it is intelligent and will do exactly what you need it to do in the body. In this case, I wanted the kind, familiar love that lavender imparts. Additionally, lavender helped to give the blend cohesiveness and body.
Geranium was used for its skin repairing abilities and balancing properties. Geranium is bold and can easily take over a blend. Used minimally, it generously imparts a deep middle note that is potent in its healing ability. I always appreciate geranium’s consistent, calm power.
We sat in the sun until the mud dried and then scrubbed it off in the cool lake water. Afterwards, we generously anointed our bodies with raw, virgin coconut oil and 1 drop of rose otto essential oil. Holy blissness! Rose otto is amazing for mind, body and spirit. I used it specifically to nourish and repair our skin and soothe those frayed nerves. Afterwards, I received a deep cranial sacral treatment on the sun-dappled deck. I slept deeper than I have in quite a few months. My adrenals are happy.
Out of the woods and back to work, I am learning a lot about how to navigate my own new and improved energy. It seems that I have been working from personal power and the result is less-than-glamorous dark circles, endocrine disruption and sometimes I admit, moodiness. I am working with some adrenal herbs and tonics to replenish myself, hula hooping more, resting more and trying to flow with the river rather than fight upstream. I need to be in my pure frequency to build PurFrequency. This baby is just getting started.
There is so much more to come. I am excited to share it all with you. Very soon, we will be posting the workshop schedule for the next few months and rolling out the full PurFrequency product line. Stay tuned. Stay glamorous. Use flowers and the infinite beauty of nature to get you there.
In love, peace, and sensual living power,
